Substitution test imp questions 22-23 EC1

Dear students solve the below questions

BEST OF LUCK

Use source transformation to find VO in the circuit shown below    5M (CO1) (BL2)

1.      A series RLC circuit with R = 100Ω , L=100mH and C = 20μF is excited by single phase   230V,50Hz sinusoidal ac supply. Determine the total impedance , current, active power and power factor of the circuit. Also determine the voltage across inductor and capacitor                                                                                                                                                               (CO2) (BL3)

2.      Define resonance. Derive an expression for band width of series RLC circuit in terms of circuit constants. Analyse the effect of capacitance on bandwidth                             (CO3) (BL4)

(Or)

3.      A series RLC circuit with R = 100Ω,L=100mH and C=10μF is excited by 1-phase 200V,50Hz supply. Calculate

(i)                 Resonant frequency

(ii)              Band width

(iii)            Quality factor

(iv)             Maximum current at resonance

(v)               Voltage across inductor and capacitor at resonance.                                                  (CO3) (BL2)

Determine the equivalent resistance between the terminals a  and b for the circuit shown below                                                                                                          5M (CO1) (BL2)

1.      a) Define the following (i) Magneto motive force (ii) Reluctance (iii) Magnetic field intensity

                                                                                                                                      (BL1) (CO4) 6M

b) A coil of 500 turns is wound uniformly over a wooden ring having a mean circumference of 50 cm and a cross sectional area of 500mm2.If the exciting current through coil is 3A the flux and flux density of the coil                                                                                                      (BL4) (CO4) 4M

Two similar coils when connected in series aiding has resulted in an inductance of 20mH

and when connected in series opposing has resulted in an inductance of 4mH.Determine    mutual inductance and coefficient of coupling between coils             (BL4) (CO4)  5M

Find the Thevenin equivalent circuit of the circuit shown in Fig. 4.27, to

the left of the terminals a-b
